Dr. Zulfi Jaffar is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist who practices with Oncology San Antonio. As Vice President of the multidisciplinary cancer care group, Dr. Jaffar is committed to a comprehensive and compassionate team approach in the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing follow-up care of every cancer patient. Although Dr. Jaffar has experience treating several types of cancer, he specializes in breast cancer, sarcomas, and genitourinary cancer.
Dr. Jaffar attended medical school at Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, and fulfilled his residency at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital in New York. The Dubai native returned to his hometown after completing his fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at St. Vincent’s Hospital New York and served as chief of oncology at Dubai Hospital. Dr. Jaffar joined Oncology San Antonio in 2006 and practices in the Medical Center and in Live Oak.
As an avid fan of literature, Dr. Jaffar enjoys reading well-written books and has even authored several publications and presentations in peer-reviewed oncology journals. Although Dr. Jaffar was recognized as a 2011 Top Doctor in San Antonio, he believes his best achievement is his patients’ expression of unconditional gratitude to him and his staff.
